For its special series commemorating the station’s 50th anniversary, WCBS Radio in New York City selected, featured and interviewed Jay Winuk as one of its “50 People to Know.”

The “President’s Call to Service Award” from The White House, one of the nation’s highest civilian service honors and which salutes Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service.

Jay and the PR firm he founded and leads, Winuk Communications, Inc., have received numerous national and international public relations awards for work on behalf of clients in many industries, including Silver and Bronze Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of America, the industry’s highest honors.

Jay has been interviewed for and/or profiled in several short- and long-form documentaries, television broadcasts and videos. 

CNN’s “Shine A Light”:  Jay and his 9/11 Day co-founder David were co-producers of and interviewees for CNN’s television special about the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The program was broadcast domestically and internationally and viewed by millions on September 11, 2021. Performers and guests included H.E.R., Maroon 5, Brad Paisley, Common, Robert DeNiro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Eli Manning and others.

Jay co-produced and was interviewed by NBC “Today Show” co-host Jenna Bush Hager in a Town Hall “virtual field trip” for students. This Discovery Education program about service and civic engagement was viewed by hundreds of thousands of students and teachers in classrooms throughout the nation.
